Several months ago Leslie and I decided on this Southeast Asia adventure. Probably for the passion for sport and activity in general, which unites both of us in our need for adventure and discovery. Also the harmony we have with each other encourages us to face any challenge with calm and confidence.
So why Hong Kong? Well that we don’t know ... probably due to one of those days while looking at a world map to see what whim of fate would catch our gaze on some point that created some curiosity, but then another point is noticed some six thousand kilometers away from the first, and of course we must unite the two by pedaling between them! Yes, pedaling about seventy kilometers a day and trying not to sleep more than two nights in the same place, and thus joining the dots on a 1:250000 scale map through China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, to finally end in the islands of Indonesia.
Now what? Well we are here getting our bikes ready, preparing clothing, tents, maps, getting our vaccinations, visas and getting this blog ready to post photos to tell of our adventures (and misadventures) when we have occasion to do so. We hope that it will be often, but as we say ... what the heck!

"what the heck"
It’s a philosophy of life in which we know that things always end up following its course. It’s not carelessness; it’s simply not worrying when it’s not necessary. It’s not care- free living, it’s responding to our heart’s call of adventure. It’s not irresponsibility; it’s being responsible for the needs in our lives. And sometimes we have to take life with a little bit of "what the heck"!
